I know that many of you will be traveling to Las Vegas in a couple of months to attend the annual Data Mining Conference. But, for those of you who won’t be attending, or for those who would love a sneak-peek beforehand, I’d like to share with you two upcoming webinars.

Dick DeVeaux, Professor of Statistics at Williams College will be presenting a Webinar on August 31 at 11:00 AM ET titled Data Mining – Fool’s Gold or the Mother Lode? You’ll learn how to avoid the potential dangers and mistakes that even seasoned professionals can make in the data mining process.

The following day, September 1st, John Elder, Founder and CEO of Elder Research and faculty member of the International Institute for Analytics (IIA) will be doing a webinar titled Data Mining with Quantitative and Qualitative Data. This Webinar is hosted by the IIA, which I’m happy to say they are also a sponsor of M2010!

So, if you’re wondering what it’s like to attend the annual Data Mining Conference, come check out one or both of these webinars to get an idea of what you can expect from the conference sessions. And hopefully I’ll also see you in Las Vegas!
