I love to read and when I’m researching a subject, I go through books like a kid in a candy store. Recently I started reading some of the general Business Intelligence books. What I find is that you need these books when you are preparing presentations or sometimes just to have read the same information your client or boss has. Successful Business Intelligence: Secrets to Making BI a Killer App Cindi Howson (BI Scorecard Site) did an excellent job providing an overview of business intelligence from technology, implementation, and even promoting the application. She has a clear understanding of the IT role in business intelligence. There is some in-grown distrust of IT projects – so she has very practical advise about making your BI project successful.
