SAS Global Forum 2012 starts this coming Sunday in the happiest place on earth – Disney World. I’m so excited. You may have already read some of things I’m planning to do and papers I’m planning to see and even some background on the SAS BI and Google Analytics paper that Angela and I are presenting.
By the way, SAS Press is giving away a copy of the Building Business Intelligence book during our talk and three more during the SAS Talks via Twitter on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am EST. You can join the SAS Talks here.
Check out All the Buzz!!!
Here’s my latest video blog at AllAnalytics.Com about the SAS Global forum. Like my screen capture? Am I getting ready to kiss the monitor or spit out my gum? Anyway – leave a comment at the All Analytics site if you watch the video. (Appreciate you!)
Check out these excellent posts from some of the coolest people I know:
- All Analytics editor Beth Schultz, provides a great overview in the On the Road to SAS Global Forum. She helps you understand why we are all so excited!
- Angela Hall, my wonderful co-author, invites you to meet up at SAS Global Forum. She has promised free autographs if you purchase a book (which are 20% off during the conference). I double-dog dare you to ask her draw a picture of you next to her autograph. Shh! Don’t say it was me! <lol>
- Chris Hemedinger, who is not a dummy but claims the role at his blog, has penned Heme-Finder so you know where he is! Two reasons – in case you want to find him or if you want to avoid him (his words!). Also here is information on the SAS Tech Talks he’s hosting … check out the cool topics.
- Waynette Tubbs, (@WaynetteTubbs) Miss-SAS-Social-Media herself, says Join me at SAS Global Forum for joyful Madness. She didn’t add mayhem to the title … but Angela & I got that covered! Wonder who else can help us?!?
- Shelley Sessoms. whom I adore, is looking for new SAS Press book authors with some topics she lists here. If you have a great idea – pitch it to her. She’s very approachable and she can help you become the next best-selling SAS Author!
Get the iPhone App to Plan Your Time!
If you have an iPhone/iPad you can download the SAS Global Forum 2012 app from the App Store allowing you to add the Personal Agenda to your calendar so you get reminders and you have the conference proceedings in your pocket – easy to search. Useful for preventing situations where you are hanging out in the SAS Demo area and remember 5 minutes after an awesome paper starts then you make a mad rush to a room across the venue arriving out of breath and making a lot of commotion (this has never happened to me – some people really glare!
Check out the Business Intelligence Content
Here’s a few papers focused on Business Intelligence that I have added to my Personal Agenda builder on the iPhone:
- BI at Your Fingertips: Creating Immersive Mobile Reports with SAS® Visual Designer
I’m curious to see how BI is being applied to mobile devices – particularly the iPad. The Visual Designer is part of the SAS High Performance Analytics package – I saw a quick demo last fall. It’s the most similar to the SAS BI Dashboard application – so I wonder what else has happened to it since last fall.
- Analysis of Clickstream Data Using SAS®I just want to learn more about this topic. Plus they are showing some macros and I’m a sucker for topics with Google Analytics and SAS Macros.
- Van Gogh Your Data: Data Visualization Methods with SAS® Business Intelligence
I love to think of data as art! So this paper should have some really interesting insights. Read more about data as art at the Information is Beautiful blog.
- Modernize with SAS® Dashboards: Go Beyond a Collection of Gauges
It’s one of the last sessions … I’ll be tired but I am very curious about this topic. I don’t like the gauges on the dashboard – I think they can be hard to read -so wonder what this author is proposing?
It’s not too Late
It’s not too late to register for the conference – you can even just walk in to the conference on Monday morning and register. And here’s all the papers to help you decide which sessions you want to attend or provide some extra incentive.
Whew! I’m already tired and I haven’t even packed yet!
